چکیده
Abstract Upper Miocene sedimentary deposits of Sierra de las Cabras in the Prebetic Ranges (Jumilla, Región Murcia, Spain) yield a exceptional fossil site diverse vertebrate ichnofauna, including mammals and birds. This paper presents detailed study those ichnites that which correspond to mammals. Correction: Dinosaur Footprints and Other Ichnofauna from the Cretaceous Kem Kem Beds of Morocco
We describe an extensive ichnofossil assemblage from the likely Cenomanian-age 'lower' and 'upper' units of the 'Kem Kem beds' in southeastern Morocco. In the lower unit, trace fossils include narrow vertical burrows in cross-bedded sandstones and borings in dinosaur bone, with the latter identified as the insect ichnotaxon Cubiculum ornatus. In the upper unit, several horizons preserve abundan...
متن کاملSima de los Huesos (Sierra de Atapuerca, Spain). The site.
In this article a topographical description of the Cueva Mayor Cueva de Silo cave system is provided, including a more detailed topography of the Sala de los Ciclopes Sala de las Oseras-Sima de los Huesos sector. The history of the excavations and discoveries of human and carnivore fossils in Sima de los Huesos and adjacent passages is briefly reported, as well as the increase, throughout the s...

Middle Paleolithic fossil human remains from the Sima de las Palomas in southeastern Iberia (dated to <or=43,000-40,000 calendar years before present) present a suite of derived Neandertal and/or retained ancestral morphological features in the mandibular symphysis, mandibular ramus, dental occlusal morphology, and distal hand phalanx. These traits are combined with variation in the mandibular ...
متن کاملThe carnivore remains from the Sima de los Huesos Middle Pleistocene site (Sierra de Atapuerca, Spain).
Remains of carnivores from the Sima de los Huesos site representing at least 158 adult individuals of a primitive (i.e., not very speleoid) form of Ursus deningeri Von Reichenau 1906, have been recovered through the 1995 field season. These new finds extend our knowledge of this group in the Sierra de Atapuerca Middle Pleistocene. Material previously classified as Cuoninae indet, is now assigne...
متن کاملControls on fan development - evidence from fan morphometry and sedimentology; Sierra Nevada, SE Spain
We have studied the morphology and the morphometric relations between alluvial fans and drainage basins in a bajada system including more than 20 coalescent fans developed since the Late Pleistocene as a result of the recent uplift of the Sierra Nevada (Betic Cordillera, Spain). Three allocycles of tectonic origin were recognised across which there is a clear evolution from debris flow to sheet...
